-Grew Energy, part of the Chiripal Group, has begun constructing a fully backward integrated solar module manufacturing unit in Kathua, Jammu & Kashmir, with an investment commitment of INR 4,500 crore.
-Upon completion, the facility will have a capacity to produce 3.2 GW of high-efficiency modules and 2.8 GW of ingots, wafers, and cells per year.
-Spread across 80 acres, the facility aims to meet the growing solar demands of Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, neighboring states, and India.
-The initiative will contribute to socio-economic development, empower communities, and create employment opportunities in the region.
-With this facility and an existing unit in Jaipur, Rajasthan, Grew Energy aims to achieve a total manufacturing capacity of 6 GW for modules and 2.8 GW for solar components by FY 2025.
