– The Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS) has helped reduce Aggregate Technical and Commercial (AT&C) losses from 17% to 15.41% in FY 2022-23.
– The RDSS aims to eliminate the Average Cost of Supply-Average Revenue Realized (ACS-ARR) gap by FY 2024-25 and target 12-15% AT&C losses. The program is backed by a ₹3.04 trillion investment with significant government support.
– Under the RDSS, millions of prepaid smart meters have been approved, and there have been substantial investments in transmission infrastructure. Proposals to regulate DISCOM dues are also in place to promote sustainability.
