Schneider Electric Inaugurates Climate Smart Villages in Jharkhand

Schneider Electric India Foundation launched Climate Smart Villages in Gumla, Jharkhand, to utilize solar power for various community needs.
This initiative, in collaboration with PRADAN, aims to uplift tribal farming communities through renewable energy.
The villages feature 40 kW and 45 kW solar arrays powering irrigation, agro-processing, households, and electric rickshaws, benefiting 110 families.
Results include increased farmers’ income, reduced migration, and a 60,000 kg/year decrease in carbon emissions.
